Using Social Networks For Organising Events

Social Networks
Organising events using social networks can be one of our advantage to make an event to be successful. Using social networks to organise events can be a great experience for both event organisers and the attendees. What is interesting most about organising events using social networks is that you can reach your stakeholders faster and at the same time. Social networks improved our ways of organising events, unlike in the olden days where many people were  relying most on using invitation cards when they invite people to attend their events. This doesn't mean that people are no longer using invitation cards, some they are still using them but i think the easiest way is to adapt the use of social networks when organising events. The use of social networks can help event organisers to reach many people as possible.

As an event organiser i think it is very helpful to consider the following social networks tools when organising an event:
  • Facebook- by creating a Facebook page for your event where you can post  updates about the event
  • Twitter- by tweeting before the event and during the event to inform those who did not attend the    event about what is happening in the event.
  • Blog- by  posting event updates and uploading pictures and videos.
  • Myspace- by creating your own events and add events to send them to your friends.
  • Linkedin- by using Linkedin Event Application, this will enable you as an event organiser to share your events on this application.read more

Using social networks for organising events will help you as an event organiser to keep in touch with all the attendees and stay connected to you through the use of social networks. For me social networks can be regarded as the top event planning tools.

  1. Uisng social media for event should not be the 1st priority for events companies becasue not all of us like social media and people still prefer to see ad and posters around the streets.

  2. Nowadays we rely on social networks to get our messages conveyed to our stakeholders. The only advantage is that you reach a large number of stakeholders faster. The moment you press a publish button is the moment you reach thousands of stakeholders.

  7. I think that it could work but traditional media is still the way to go if you want to get your message across. Not everyone believes in social networking and in fact some people don't even know how to use social networking sites.

  8. I think that could work as long as you send clear messages that will make your audience understand. But sometimes you have to meet the demands of your audience as some are not the regular user of social networks.
